Hiding the eyes under the eyelids has an undeniably twofold character.
On the one hand, it excludes us from the visual sphere of the outside world, while on the other,
it includes us in the boundless world of mental representation.
A fully experienced vision or memory is only possible when we close our eyes. Perhaps the spectacle
constantly unfolding within us need mechanical receptors, which are our eyes, or screens in the form
of eyelids, on which they can be displayed.
The question posed in this way divides our perception into two orders, to which we have access using only
one apparatus.
We must therefore choose which world we want to participate in.
The works in this series try to show the memory seen from „inside”, after closing our eyes - however,
this is not about afterimages but images emerging from the depths of our memory.
